is designed to support Black single mothers who have experienced trauma. We acknowledges the unique challenges and emotional burdens that single mothers often face, including trauma from relationships, financial stress, societal pressure, isolation, or past abuse. The group setting allows clients to connect with others who share similar experiences, providing a sense of community and understanding. *Participants must physically live in Texas.*

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy) therapy is a transformative approach for processing traumatic experiences and relieving emotional distress.

Here's how it works:

Eye Movement: During EMDR sessions, clients focus on traumatic memories while engaging in bilateral stimulation,  such as following the therapist's finger/visual movement,  or listening to alternating tones.

Desensitization and Reprocessing: This process allows clients to reprocess traumatic memories, reducing their emotional intensity and creating new, adaptive associations.

Healing and Growth: EMDR therapy can help individuals break free from the grips of past trauma, fostering healing, resilience, and personal growth.

CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapeutic)  approach helps clients explore their thoughts and feelings; and discover how they are connected to their behaviors.

CBT is a form of psychological treatment that has been demonstrated to be effective for a range of problems including depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol and drug use problems, marital problems, eating disorders, and severe mental illness.

Numerous research studies suggest that CBT leads to significant improvement in functioning and quality of life. In many studies, CBT has been demonstrated to be as effective as, or more effective than, other forms of psychological therapy or psychiatric medications.

IFS (Internal Family Systems Therapy) helps clients get to know all of their parts of self in order to reparent their inner child.

IFS is an approach to psychotherapy that identifies and addresses multiple sub-personalities or families within each person’s mental system. These sub-personalities consist of wounded parts and painful emotions such as anger and shame, and parts that try to control and protect the person from the pain of the wounded parts. The sub-personalities are often in conflict with each other and with one’s core Self, a concept that describes the confident, compassionate, whole person that is at the core of every individual.

IFS focuses on healing the wounded parts and restoring mental balance and harmony by changing the dynamics that create discord among the sub-personalities and the Self.
